Delta Guppy

Veiltail Guppy
Small freshwater fish from South American, Trinidad and Barbados, but also introduced into other tropical areas to control mosquitoes by eating their larvae. Captive-bred Guppies come in variety of colors and tail-types, including Veiltail, Delta and Sword.
Suitable for a mixed collection of fish in a tank that is at least 24 by 15 by 12 inches. Choose a tank with the biggest surface area possible, allowing 12 square inches of surface area for each inch of fish length in the collection. Maintain water temperature at 72 – 82 fahrenheit.
Guppies eat small crustaceans, worms and insects such as mosquito larvae. They will also take a quantity of plant matter and fine grade dried tropical fish food. They thrive on brine shrimp, daphnia and tubifex worms given live, or as freeze-dried blocks.
Guppies are prolific livebearers – females produce young every 4 weeks.
Keep breeding males and females in a small tank. Females become swollen with
young (fry) that are born live and swimming. Isolate adults in a wire cage to
prevent them from eating the fry.
