Hi, I just recently became interested in sugar gliders and found a great site that someone showed me just today. The site is www.sugar-gliders.com It is a great site from what i have seen of it and if you have any questions about sugar gliders, just email the lady on there. Also, sugar gliders should never be without playmates (at least one other glider, either gender is fine) because there have been numerous cases where they have died. Sugar gliders are alot of work and are not to be taken lightly. I wish your friend the best of luck!

there really not the best pets if you dont know much about them. they have to have special diets. and they are $200 bucks per glider. and you HAVE to get two, no way around it.http://www.sugarglider.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat= should take you to glider boards, ask around for a breeder near you. only if your sure there the pets you want. for if you dont want them leter down the rode, you cant just give em up. it could kill them to be apart from the owner they are bonded to. they also live around 15 years of age. its alot of work! but i love gliders, and wouldnt have it any other way :)

go here its about sugar gliders http://www.skinhorse.net/gliders/
Sugar Gliders have become popular pets in the United States, and anyone who has ever seen one can easily tell you why. Besides being intelligent, playful and inquisitive, they are just darn cute. They also don't smell bad (if their diet is correct), don't have fleas, don't need shots, are relatively inexpensive to keep, and having one in your pocket is a sure-fire way to meet people and make new friends!Like any pet, they come with their own unique set of needs and requirements, and although there's a lot more information available now than there was a few years ago, there are still a lot of glider owners out there who really don't know how to best care for their animals.

Although sugar gliders (Petaurus breviceps) are native to Australia, they have not been exported from there for many years. The ones we have in the U.S. are descendents of gliders that were imported from other places, mostly Indonesia.

Like many animals from that part of the world, they are marsupials, similar in size to our American flying squirrel (but much cuter). Their name comes from their affinity for sweet things like the sweet sap that leaks from wounds in trees. At the moment they are considered an "exotic" in the U.S., and a federal license is required to sell them. Unfortunately, it is illegal to even own them in some states, notably California. Before purchasing a glider, it would be a good idea to check with the USDA's Animal Care Sector Office for your state and make sure of the laws in your area.

The diet of wild sugar gliders consists mainly of sap, nectar, bugs, and small animals such as baby birds. They are nocturnal, so as pets they're most fun late in the evening and early in the morning, and they are capable of making an interesting variety of sounds. They are very clean little animals, and although they do have their own unique scents, they don't smell bad if their diet is correct. There are also some health problems that glider owners should be aware of

just google search them.. you will find all you need from web sites. dont listen to what anyone says, do your OWN research.. this isnt something to slack off about! its too sad that too many of them get ditched off because people dont know what they are getting into!!

I resent that remark ^_^ I'm trying to decide between the two right now. Both diets I can handle, both I can bond with, both I can get a cage for, I consider flying squirrels adorable, but what about their chewing? *sigh* Decisions....maybe I'll get both.

Well it has been wonderful the last 3 years being owned by sugar gliders. Sadly I am going to move soon and cannot take the gliders along. I have to find them good permanent homes. I hate to see them go but I guess I'll have to cope. Here is what I have for sale....

Breeding Pair Meeka (3yrs. 3mns. old) and Moochie (3yrs. and 7mns. old). They are both very hand tame and extremly healthy. They have never had any health problems and have been very successful paretns dozens of times. They have raised probably close to 20 some joeys - all tame and healthy. Neither of them are overweight and both have beautiful faces and coats and Moochie is very muscular. They are very alert, curious, and playful. I have attatched a picture of them breeding in their old smaller cage. They are fed BML diet but I keep exotic nutrition pellets in the cage for them. They are the most wonderful pets and friends I have ever had and I hope they are the same to their new owner. They come with their cage which is The Majestic Sugar Glider Cage from Martins cages specially for sugar gliders. It is the bottom cage at this website: http://www.martins/products/cages/sugar/. And they come with their diet, pouch, toys, wheels, bedding, food dishes, ropes, and everything. Email me if interested for more pictures and info.

Meeka currently has a joey in the pouch that I am expecting will be ready to go home mid August I will include the baby with the pair or if you wait I will sell the baby when it is ready and then buyer can take the pair.

Breeding Pair Mickey and Minnie (both 2 yrs. 4 mns. old) are also extremely hand tame and healthy. They have raised 2 beautiful joeys (1 being white tipped variation) They are fed BML diet as well and exotic nutrition pellets in cage. Very beautiful gliders neither one is sickly but Mickey is a tad bit over weight. They are extremly sweet and can be handled without any problem. Stay in my pocket or bra all day. I love these guys so much! Thay come with a smaller cage 36"x17"x17" but it is the cage they are used to and will be fine as long as they get playtime. They also come with diet, pouch, wheel, toys, bedding, etc. Email me if interested with any questions, for pictures or info.

I want the best for these little guys. They are all very sweet, handtame, playful, pocket trained, curious, and healthy. Please email me as soon as possible if interested at glidinaround@hotmail.com Thanks and Happy Glidin'
