i've asked a few people that question as well. they told me that its possible....its very difficult of course. think its easier in big birds and not small size birds.
its probably not too good for the bird to hold it in tho...
hope this answers your question

Hello,
I breed and handraise lovebirds and cockatiels, and I have been able to potty train some of them. Usually, it takes a smarter breed of bird to learn (like those of the parrot family). Starting when they were still young, about 3 weeks or so, I would wait until they pooped, then I would say "poop! Good birdy!" while holding it out, then snuggle and pet it. Now, they go whenever they see me coming. But you have to make sure to be consistent in your training or else they won't learn. Also, after it's potty trained you should make sure to hold the bird out every few minutes, or else they may have an accident (on your shoulder :P ).
Good Luck!

lol, I'm sorry.. but that's a pretty strange method. I'd rather just cover my couches with old sheets. good luck though, I'm glad that's working for you.
