This poem is about the owners that buy puppies, and think they stay puppies. Everyone should know that all puppies grow into dogs. And alot of dogs end up in the backyard, because their actions arent as cute as when they were when they were little.
You walked through the door
But maybe you were expecting more
At first you adored me
But as I grew you ignored me
When I was a pup, when I nipped at your fingers you'd laugh and giggle
But it wasn't as cute when I wasn't so little
I didn't mean to do any harm
I guess I lost my puppy charm
It wasn't my choice to grow
I was going to be a big dog
Why didn't you know?
Now I'm out in the backyard
You should have known I'd be so large
You blame me for being a big dog
I don't understand what I did wrong
You blame me for nipping at your toes
You never got mad when I was young, so how was I supposed to know?
How is this my fault?
I couldnt stop myself from growing into an adult
What was I supposed to do?
All that I can say, is that I blame you
You walked through the door
But maybe you were expecting more
At first you adored me
But as I grew you ignored me
When I was a pup, when I nipped at your fingers you'd laugh and giggle
But it wasn't as cute when I wasn't so little
I didn't mean to do any harm
I guess I lost my puppy charm
It wasn't my choice to grow
I was going to be a big dog
Why didn't you know?
Now I'm out in the backyard
You should have known I'd be so large
You blame me for being a big dog
I don't understand what I did wrong
You blame me for nipping at your toes
You never got mad when I was young, so how was I supposed to know?
How is this my fault?
I couldnt stop myself from growing into an adult
What was I supposed to do?
All that I can say, is that I blame you
