I recently got a Sugar Glider named Taz from my step sister who couldn't care for it because she just got married. She said he wasn't tame and I would have to work with him a little longer. He lets me touch him and hand-feed him at night when he is awake, but is very skiddish and won't let me hold him. I've had him for 5 days and I know the bonding process takes up to a month. During the day, he makes the crabbing noise if I nudge his pouch or sleepsack and he tries to bite.
To help bond, I've been taking his sleepsack out of his cage while he is in it and putting it on my lap while I work in the afternoon so he can get used to me. I also have a cut-up shirt that I put with him in his sleepsack to help him get used to my scent.
I was wondering if there was anything else I could do to get him used to me without getting him too scared. I go to school, so I can't take him with me in a sack because he still makes the crabbing noise if I accidentally wake him up.
Thanks!
