Chocalate Eyes
My Dad found you that sunny day, while he was golfing. He knew I loved animals, and you were in such bad condition, he couldn't leave you. You sat queitly watching people pass you under a shady tree, just waiting for someone to drag you away into that dusty metal truck they have dragged your freinds away in. Only to sit on cold stone aided only by a thin blanket, as thin as a sheet, to keep you warm. Only to be dragged away soon, to await your death. But no, no this kind person, why, he's whistling at you, inviting you to come into his car. The cushions are inviting. You haven't sat on anything soft for so long. You arrive at a decent looking house, hoping maybe you'll have someone to play with. He unlocks teh door, writes a note, and puts it on the table so anyone who walks in can see it, then he puts you in the garage. It's a comfartable tempature in here, and he give you a thick comfartbale blanket to sleep on while he's gone. About an hour after he's gone and you've dozed off your golden head deep in the blanket, you here a door slam and voices talking exitedly. You jump up, exited too now, hoping you may have owners. You hear them read the note. A young voice reads:
Melissa, Cort, and Hannah,
There is a suprise in the garage! I've gone back to work. See you around six.
Charles
Then you hear footsteps running toward the garge and it flings out, revealing two exited children and a woman looking wide eyed to see. I run toward you and wrap my arms around your neck and rub you gently. You are nto what everyone wanted, my mom wanted a chihaha, but you fit me exactly. Becuase you are mine now and I'll love you forever.
A few years later, about two, we are going to move 15 states. You see me pound on doors, stomp through the home you have come to know well, scream, plead, and cry finally collapsing on my bed, sobbing like there is no tomorrow. You jump up and put your body on teh outside of me, so your cuddling me. You lick my cheeks, and dry my tears. Your warmth is comforting and I finally fall asleep in your arms. I tell you the next day why I was crying, and I explain to you why we can not take you, while we can take our chihaha. Becuase of a law on the house, only dogs 15-20 pounds and under. You are a beautiful golden female lab, and so yoru size is nto permitted. I tell you I tried, and I know you're going to miss that special spot I always cleared away from my projects. I thank you grandly with many tears for never steppign on any papers or projects I was doing, even if my floor was full of stuff. I make sure to not send you to a shelter, I won't allow it, you're my dog and I love you, and you're not leaving my sight without going to a good home first. My mom finds a no-kill shelter, but I insist I'm going to find someone. I hold a meeting with my best freinds at lunch, one of my B.F.F 's has persmission to take you. At least you know her, and have known her for a long time. Leaving you is hard. My tears are ready to break out of teh dam holding them back, a crack is starting to appear. I laugh hard at my freinds dads jokes, nervouse. But as I leave you, you know this is final goodbye and you whine and tug, trying to reach me as I climb into our truck. You are not mine anymore. As I leave, I see your eyes wet, and adorble like babies looking like melted chocolate. But I will always try to come back for you my sweet, Sugar. And the spot in my heart that always held your love is not empty I know, becuase I know you will always love you as I know I will you, but you are not mine anymore my, Sugar. And now I have left you. Farewell, I will return for you.
Dedicated to my dog Sugar. I will love her always :(
