From Ocean to Desert

This poem is dedicated to my poor tomato frogs Fergie and Tony who sadly died of impaction together...

There was an ocean
two side by side
the oceans were calm
the oceans were quiet
the oceans were moist
moist
moist like the rain
moist like a wet sponge
moist like the sea breeze
the sea
the oceans were like seas
quiet but not too quiet
calm but not too calm
large but not too large
the two oceans side by side became dry
dry
desert dry
soft sand all around
only a actus for some shade
the desert is large
the desert is powerful
more powerful than the sea
more powerful than the ocean
more powerful than life
the desert is dry
the oceans are no more
I want to be moist again
