My name is Kayla. I live in West Palm Beach, Florida, and am in desperate need of a veterinarian that will perform a well-done and inexpensive rat neutering (two, actually) for my Brisby and Dexter. Money is a major issue, not because I am stingy but simply because I do not have a lot. I am able to spend up to $150 total, perhaps more. If I can not find someone to perform this, I will be forced to sell the ratties 🙁 their marking is too much for my parents and this is their final area of concern in keeping them. I am willing to drive up to an hour and a half in exchange for an inexpensive and well done surgery. Any and all help is appreciated.

I live in ohio so i cant help ya much sorry. Rats are under exotics so you will have to find an exotic specialist vet to preform the neuters. Also, male rats shouldnt smell hardly at all if their cage is kept clean. Spot cleaning daily helps. The most my males have is a musky odor but you cant smell it unless you have them right up to your nose. I have 20 rats, 10 girls and 10 boys. The cheapest you probably might find is $100 each maybe. I mean its worth looking around but its not cheap since they are so small. But maybe try the spot cleaning. I cant see how 2 males can make such a big stink that your parents would want you to get rid of them if their cage is kept clean.

    Did you find a vet?
